We took on a consumer who had a telco default for approximately $2600.
This was preventing her from getting a home loan.
She came on board in June of 2022 and within a few weeks
we got approval to have the default removed as we found that it was listed in error.
Defaults can only be removed if listed in error.
If you pay the debt once a default is listed it is just marked as paid.
But it will remain on your credit report for 5 years from the date it was listed.
NOT the date you pay it (if this is after the listing date on your credit report).
